The Everglades National Park is the southern part of the original Everglades in Florida. The park consists of 1,509,000 acres of a wildlife refuge for many species including the American Alligator. Every year thousands of visitors the many activities including hiking, biking and boating. To me it is where the beauty of the wide-open spaces called the River of Grass, and the swampy areas come together. I have always loved the regalness of the Slash Pine Tree that stands up to 100 feet in the air in Florida. Everywhere in the Everglades you will see this tree watching over its territory.
